Sjoelen (Dutch Shuffleboard Game)

 

Sjoelen has become a staple at family gatherings and community events since the late 19th century. Its accessibility makes it enjoyable for players of all ages, fostering social interaction and friendly competition. The game is often played during festive occasions such as Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Over time, Sjoelen has evolved into a competitive sport with organized tournaments. The World Sjoelen Championship is now held annually, attracting players from various countries.

 

The maximum score in one turn is 148 points. Seasoned players can sometimes achieve more than the maximum score – here is an example of earning 152 points!
