Nap at “Van Gogh’s Bedroom”

The Bedroom
Step into a life-sized recreation of Van Gogh’s iconic “The Bedroom”, where every detail transports you to the artist’s life in the Yellow House in Arles, France. Pose on the bed while gazing at the mesmerizing “Starry Night” and immerse yourself in a moment that blends art, history and imagination.
Van Gogh prepared the room himself with simple furniture and with his own work on the wall. The bright colours were meant to express absolute “repose” or “sleep”. The strongly contrasting colours in this masterpiece are the result of discolouration over the years. The rules of perspective seem not to have been accurately applied throughout the painting, but this was a deliberate choice. Van Gogh was very pleased with the painting: ‘When I saw my canvases again after my illness, what seemed to me the best was the bedroom.’
There are three versions of this painting. The first, created in October 1888, is housed in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
