Financial Assistance for Extended Study Programme

A. HKBU Sponsorship

Every student accepted into the Extended Study Programme(ESP) receive the HKBU Sponsorship

Conditions for the HKBU Sponsorship

  1. Students must engage in full-time studies and credit-bearing courses during the study period.
  2. Students who fail to complete the ESP programme or withdraw from the University are required to repay immediately the sponsorship (and the loan, if applicable).
  3. Full-time Government-funded undergraduate students.

B.  HKBU Scholarship

With the generous support of our donors, the following scholarships are awarded to selected students on a competitive basis and are subject to the availability of funds.

Award of Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and are subject to the availability of funds. Certain scholarships may require eligible applicants to attend a face-to-face interview in January/February. The International Office will nominate suitable candidates to one of the scholarships according to the donor's requirements.

 

Notes to Scholarship Recipients

  1. Students are entitled to receive only one scholarship for Extended Study Programme at Hong Kong Baptist University.
  2. To show their appreciation to donors, scholarship recipients are required to submit a thank you letter and/or reports during or after completing the programme, depending on individual donor’s requirement.
  3. Scholarship recipients are required to attend scholarship-related events and activities organized by scholarship donors and HKBU, both before and after their study.
  4. Scholarship recipients are expected to participate in or contribute to at least ONE promotion-related activity for the Extended Study Programme after completing the programme. 

C. EDB Subsidy Schemes

HKBU students may apply for the following subsidies from the Education Bureau (EDB) to participate in the ESP.  

 

  • Scheme for Subsidy on Exchange for Post-secondary Students (Means-tested SSE)
  • Non-means-tested Mainland Experience Scheme for Post-secondary Students (Non-means-tested MES)
