Cost of Living, Fees & Payment

Fees & Payment

Depending upon the exchange/study abroad agreement between HKBU and the respective home institutions, an exchange student is normally required to pay the regular tuition fee to his/her home institution and accommodation (if applicable) to HKBU.  For details, please check with your home institution and/or HKBU's International Office.

 

For payment, you can go to “My Finance” in your BUniPort account.  You can then select and print out the debit note(s).  For details, you may refer to Finance Office website.

Tuition

For Exchange Students
You will pay tuition fee to your home institution.  According to the exchange agreement between HKBU and your home institution, tuition fee to HKBU will be waived for you.  However, you will be required to pay accommodation (if applicable) and administrative fees to HKBU.  HKBU will bill you for payment.

For Study Abroad Students
According to our agreement with your institution, you will be required to pay tuition, accommodation (if applicable) and administrative fees to HKBU.  HKBU will bill you or your home institution for payment.

For Students from Non-Partner Institutions
You will be required to pay tuition and administrative fees to HKBU.  When making your application, a non-refundable application fee of HK$450 is required. HKBU will bill you for payment.

Administrative Fee

All students are required to pay an administrative fee of HK$1,800 to cover costs such as visa application fee and some academic & orientation services.

Meals

The University does not operate any meal plan.  Students can dine where they want, on or off campus.  There are several canteens and two full-service restaurants located on the university campuses.  Cost per meal in the canteens ranges from HK$30 (~US$4) up.  Please click here to find out more about dining options on and around campus.
